A vintage building with a lot of charm in a serene area portage outside of a buzz of the town. Helpful and friendly staff, great WiFi

Be prepared for a good chat when you check in to the fig and gecko. Hostel owner Paul friendly, welcoming and very helpful to plan an itinerary and share his knowledge of the area. A good place to meet people and enjoy your time out of the city area.

Awesome place! Paul the owner is a really nice guy who prepares loads of informations and offers of what you can (or should) do if you are at the region of Anuradhapura. Examples: Night-Tuktuktours through the ancient city, renting bikes for exploring the ancient city by day, safaris and a lot more.... It is very clean and you have plenty of space in and outside the house. Breakfast and lunch is extraordinary good and you will feel like living with one big family that welcomes you with all their heart. Definitely recommend this hostel. 5 out of 5 stars!!

Cheap place, super friendly environment, clean, kind staff. The owner, Paul, is super acknowledged about the place and all the things to do around, he can help you out planning almost everything. Good wifi connection, huge building. Absolutely recommended

Awesome place a bit off the spot but therefore nice and quiet. Surrounded by a nice garden with monkeys and, of course, geckos. The founder is involved in community projects, books tours to Wilpattu National Park or gives you information about the history of the city.

Great hostel located near loads of temples and a short bus ride from Mihintale which has even more to see. Paul the owner is really friendly and is happy to provide loads of tips on what to go see and how to get there. The rooms in the hostel are spacious and clean and the breakfast was delicious.
