A truly enchanting hideaway that is like something out of a fairy tale. Stayed here 1 night in September (2018) and it really made a lasting impression because it is so rich in treasures, one of which is Khema, the owner and host who is just so lovely. Listening to her describe how much of her heart and soul she invests in the 100 year old property is inspiring. The home is perched majestically on high and overlooks stunning terraced valley and far away mountain ranges. Beautiful gardens abound and the interior is spacious and grand and full of superb antique furniture and ornaments. Great to see these precious pieces being lovingly used - I felt really privileged to have the opportunity to stay in such a special place.

An exceptional place to stay. That was my third visit. This time we stayed over a long weekend. The accommodation couldn't be more charming and the food served is excellent. It is by far the best place I've stayed in the hills.
Had a wonderful stay in Glenesk Bungalow. Without doubt the best choice! View from the bungalow is magnificent and the garden is amazing. Loved sitting by the fireplace in the evening. We stayed in the Rose Room which was the main bedroom of the bungalow, very spacious and comfortable. Lovely host not only ensured we had a great stay, but helped us with various other things like transportation and organizing our trip to hortain plains. And the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the stay as well. Excellent hospitality! I hope to be back.
I had an incredible stay at Glenesk Bungalow. The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and it comes with one of the best views I've ever come across. You can sit in the living room and look out across majestic mountains, tea estates, and small farms. Khema was an excellent host, as she explained the history of the house and supplied lovely food. I would go back again and again and again!
Amazing place to stay, wonderful garden, great history, and Khema was a gracious host that felt like an old friend. The food was delicious too! Highly recommended.
The bungalow made a good impression on us even before we stepped into it: the surrounding garden is beautiful with any sort of colorful flowers, monkeys playing in the distance and great view to the valley. The bungalow is lovely: its british-colonial decoration, with its original antique furniture makes the entire experience cozy and sitting down in the bow window or by the fireplace for a cup of tea could not be more relaxing. The lovely host Khema is there to make sure you have everything you need and to suggest what are the best things to do: she recommended a nearby waterfall which was fantastic and with no other tourists, and arranged a horse riding tour by the tea plantation for us. I would definitely go back..
Had a wonderful vacation with family. All three kids ( 14, 10 and 8 ) had a blast. Perfect location to rejuvenate and experience the real charm of Nuwaraeliya. Khema is an awesome host with genuine warmth and care. She made our trip memorable and extra special. The curated and Recomended experiences in the area were great fun and of high quality. Glensek Bungalow has a very special soul to the place that makes you feel at home. Can not wait to be back here.
