The recent(Mar 2021) refurbishment/restoration of the Public Areas and Bars such as the 'Taprobane Lounge', 'Rainbow Banquet Hall', 'Lotus Ballroom', 'Harbour Restaurant & Long Bar', 'Tap Bar' and the public Shop front walkway has brought a new energy and vibrancy to the Hotel. The Guestrooms and corridors need to be carefully refurbished to position the hotel with similar Heritage/Business Boutique Hotels.

I always loved the view from the restaurant. I usually go there to calm my mind wether its daytime or night. Um in love with the ambience of the restaurant and that retro look. It feels like old Ceylon from the time you enter! Great staff. Good food.
Wonderful Hotel to be inside. The view from Harbour court is simply amazing and spectacular. You will get plenty of varieties for 2400 LKR, sea food buffet on Saturday. Friendly, helpful and smiling staff. I recommend Harbour Court in Grand Oriental Hotel. A hotel with a great history. Thank you.
Good place for a dinner out. Old worldly charm, with creaking wooden floors, and waiters in sailor suits. The elevator is a work of art in itself, wood panelled and with soft music playing in the background. The Harbour Room, so named because of the expansive view offered of the busy port of Colombo, provides buffet for all three meals, ranging from Rs 1400 to Rs 2400. Given the pricing, the choice on offer is fair. TIP - Call them and reserve a View Table to get the best view
Great hotel with a vintage experience, Rooms was spacious and well decorated with old times wooden beds and great interior washrooms are also good. Food was great, you will get all types of English breakfast and can enjoy it with beautiful view of sea and dockyard , lunch will be served in a beautiful dining room with tasty food and drinks. You can also exchange your currency here. The area is also very good for walking and exploring, local market is also at walking\u200d️ distance. Overall it's a great package of everything.
