It's such a particular landmark innColombo. It's 100 years old, and its checkered white and red exteriors is very usual for a mosque, that is usually painted or decorated with green paint, the favourite colour of the prophet. The narrow streets that are leading to the main entrance can benquite crowded as itnis in the heart of Pettah open market, with hundreds of sellers, shops, peddlers..... We were lucky as we visited on Poya day, that fell Sunday. Everything was closed , the best if you want to have good pics.

This Masjid will go down as one of my favourite Masjids in Sri Lanka. I recently went for prayers there, its a real MASTERPIECE located in the heart of Colombo. The inside is just as beautiful as the outside. The prayer halls are all marked with enough space to practice the social distancing. They offer prayer mats for free if you couldn't bring yours for the prayers. Temperature checking is available at the entrance and a guide is always there to supervise. The washrooms are the most cleanest I have ever seen in Colombo. Finding a parking spot is the only hard thing to do.
Nice monument with great architectural view. I loved the premises has a unique and beautiful red texture, couldn't review the building from inside but it was a jolly experience. The area is quite busy with small streets from main road near port leading up to the mosque. There is a paper and cigarette vendor stall nearby, the only spot with good diagonal view of the building.
A very unique made with wooden and the color looks beautiful !!!

Beautiful masjid it is. Located in a busy market this place felt amazing. Architecture is one of a kind I must say. Loved every bit of the experience.
