Highly recommended! We learn about the process of making tea, got to harvest tea leaves and follow the process into how is becomes tea and drank from the tea we have processed. We also got to taste 10 different tea from the shop. Lanka was an amazing guide with a lot of knowledge, and made the experience very interesting and memorable.
Great place to make your own tea! They take you through the whole tea production process (of course a shortened version - in about 1,5 hrs) and can answer any question you have about tea. The experience starts at 9am. The owner speaks good english and at the end he packed for us the tea we made so we can take it home. Definitely recommended.
The best place to buy tea in Ella for sure..and the experience Lanka provides is really worth the time..If you are in Ella make sure you definitely visit this place. The range of flavoured teas this place has is unmatched anywhere. And the prices are also extremely good compared to other tea shops in the area.
Would highly recommend this tour. Lanka had so much knowledge of tea. We were able to pick our own leaves and create our own tea! He let us pick 10 different ones to taste and gave us so much information about the start to end process of tea making. We also bought some tea from their shop on site and all very reasonable prices.
We found this place a little hidden in the side of the road, and decided to sit and try some tea. If you're thinking about buying tea in Sri Lanka, this is the place, they have a lot of varieties and mixtures with other flavors and a really good price! Also the spices are amazing. Another good point is that we had the chance to try some of the tea in their terrace, away from the main street and smoke of cars :). Perfect place to make a break in Ella!
