Had a Very bad experience, I got to know this place from booking.com, and I called them to ask about the rooms and I made a tentative booking via phone. And unfortunately, we missed the train and we went there the following day. Before that, I booked this place using the booking.com app. Once we arrived we found that there are not private washrooms, we supposed to use the common washroom. It felt so uncomfortable for us. Instead of showing us rooms with washrooms facility, they shouted at us saying you guys book and cancel, how we suppose to run this. And that person who owns the place almost came to hit us. I hope this none of us meant to travel a long way to Haputale, just to see the place and cancel, we actually planned a 10 days trip. And They must have been nice to us, at least talk to us in a proper manner. I don't what made them so angry to treat us like that. We were shocked and we're kind of helpless. Maybe it is for Sri Lankans. I saw the reviews and then only I wanted to book, but I experienced it worst. Please try to be polite and kind to everyone, I hope none of the travelers and visit face the same thing that we faced. Bad behavior.

Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Very friendly family lives on the ground floor with two guest floors above. Our room was big enough with a large bathroom and a sumptuous view over the hills and plantations from our balcony. Welcomed with tea on arrival and owner's brother took us up through gorgeous scenery to Lipton's Seat and then to a really interesting local tea factory. Excellent for the price. Haputale is just a town offering not much more than the usual Sri Lankan "flavour" but it's an excellent location for visiting the surrounding country. If you want to immerse yourself in Sri Lankan life, go here. If you want to surround yourself with western tourists and eat pizza, go to Ella.
Located in Haputale town, juat near the Haputale Railway station. Guest Inn surrounds with nice & picturesque scenes. pre-booking available, prices aren't expensive & owners are very friendly. Attached bathrooms for rooms & hot water available.
Really good place to relax . Very close to the town. Panoramic view is wonderful. Owners are friendly. Highly recommended. We visited on 2020 Sep 19/20/21 .
