Jaffna railway station is situated in Jaffna town. It’s is one of the busiest railway stations in Sri Lanka. This art deco station has been beautifully restored. It has a small cafe offering drinks and food you can take on the train. There is an ATM. The railway station in Jaffna is being reconstructed by the Sri Lanka Railways with the assistance of Bank of Ceylon. The Jaffna Railway Station has been specially reconstructed with modern facilities while preserving its ancient architecture. The reconstructed railway track has been designed with a speed potential of 120 kmph. Rail joints are minimized using the latest modern welding technology. Pre-stressed concrete sleepers have been used to lay the tracks, instead of the traditional wooden sleepers. Largest railway station in the northern railway line. Public transport method do not available to reach Jaffna town from the railway station. To do so you have to use a taxi from the three wheel park nearby the station. Otherwise you have to take a walk around 500m to reach Jaffna - KKS main road and from there you will able to use public transport to reach Jaffna town. Few rooms available for booking at the upper floor of the station with reasonable price.

Jaffna is nw recovering from the civil war, there are many vegetarian restaurants and the food is superb and very cheap.. beautiful sunsets at the Fort.
This Railway Station was rebuilt after the war and is today it is very well maintained railway station in the country. This station is very spacious and there are many reputed hotels ok it's border making it very convenient for travellers visiting the Jaffna area.
Main Railway Station in Jaffna . buses are not available from this station . Taxis are available at outside Parking . If you want to go to jaffna city center needs to ride a Taxi or catch a bus by walking to the main road . Parking spaces available
Cleanliness is very good. Well maintained. People should discipline to keep it same level. one underground tunnel to change the platforms.Canteen is clean and essentials are there to buy.
