Based in Negombo near Club Dolphin Hotel this a small family run tour operator. They will be on the beach looking for business and have a shop also that sells all sorts. We did many tours with them. All of them were good but did feel a little disappointed on the trip to Colombo. We were expecting to go with the gentlemen that spoke decent English. However on the day we got non-English speaking drivers. The tours are good we did Elephant Trails, Train, Tut Tut, Speedboat etc All in all good experience.

Just perfect stay... Thank you! 5 stars is not enough, if we could put more, we would have done it! My cousin and I used ASDA Tours for our excursions. We stayed at the hotel club dolphin where we met Thamel, recognizable with his blue ASDA t-shirt on the beach. We had 4 full days of excursions with him. This man is of incomparable kindness and patience with great humour and respect. He is a good driver, who does everything to drive safely and his car is very well equipped (air conditioning, water bottle, music...). We recommend with closed eyes ASDA Tours. First of all for the quality/price ratio but especially on the human side. We have seen that Thamel loves his job and meeting new people. He tries to adapt as much as possible to our expectations and to personalize our stay. Our excursions were fantastic, we discovered Sri Lanka from another angle thanks to our guide who had lots of good advice and addresses: Day 1: Discover the waterfalls, elephant refuge, safari and overnight in Yala Day 2: Departure from Yala for a sea trip to see dolphins and whales. Discovery of Wales fishermen snorkelling turtle farm Day 3: We visited the temple of Dambulla and saw the rock of Sigiriya. We then went to Minnerya National Park where we saw about a hundred elephants Day 4: We visited the pineapple, spice and tea plantations and then visited the elephant orphanage before ending our day in Kandy. We visited the temple of the tooth and we were lucky to have attended the temple procession in the evening. We saw a lot of things in such a short time, the days were well filled and well organized. We loved it, thank you for introducing us to Sri Lanka, we hope to come back one day!

Asda tours which is just a few yards down beach or road from the hotel - they will do tours at great value, take you to hidden gems, we saw Blue Whales, whale sharks, elephants even baby turtles - Asda Tours will guide you throughout and throw in free drinks too, all done to your schedule, not theirs, so check them out should you want to explore the island, which you really will. Recommended take in at least 1 national park, but do be prepared for long travel times on crowded roads. Take a tuk tuk to the train station - short train ride to Negombo Tuk tuk and boat ride back. We were 4 women travelling alone and cannot tell you how safe we felt - whilst we could wonder around markets (and we did) the Asda Tour guides were never far away from us always keeping an eye on us.

Just returned home after a fantastic holiday at the Dolphin Hotel in Sri Lanka where we met the lovely Thamel who runs Asda Tours. We did all our day trips with him and had a ball. Nothing was to much trouble and he show lots of knowledge and info about different areas of the places we visited. We would highly recommend Asds Tours to anybody.

ASDA is a family run business - they run both shop and tours. Tours are promoted by the beach boys coming to the hotels whose are very annoying. They offer highly risky (illegal, uninsured) tours which are at the the only about 10% cheaper that the ones organized either by the hotel or travel agency. When arranging tour, be sure they will rip you off and once trying to solve some problems later on, "Thamel" (most likely owner) will ban you on the Messenger. Shop - the only interesing thing in the "shop" is the clothing which seemed to be made by the ASDA's grandma. Otherwise, they don't have anything interesting. Shop was completely empty while we were visiting it, only few old elephants and few years old cosmetics was there. Result? If possible go somewhere else. For tours, arrange either with Tony guy or See Lanka and for shopping...well there's nothing close to the Dolphin so take Tuk Tuk and go to Negombo.
