Kandy City Wastewater management Project is implemented to purify wastewater, which is released from around 12,600 premises located in the project area. The waste water emitted from the project area is carried from special sewer systems and later collected in large capacity septic tank at the purification center in Gatambe. Here water is treated using biological technology and the purified water is release to the main water source. The main objective of the project is to improve the existing sanitation conditions of the city and create a cleaner, healthier environment which will bring prestige to Kandy City and the nation.
