Waking up to the sound of the birds in the forest was magic. I’d stay here more nights if I had the time. The family who run it are incredibly kind and the room is clean and comfortable with a great view. Best nights sleep in Sri Lanka.

I recommend everyone to not to go there! I've been visited kandy many times during the festival, summer vacations.then i found this worst place. there's bad toilet odour spreading all the day becouse of that i can't breathe properly.please wear a nosewear if you been there.

The manager lady was extremely nice, and her girl assistant was helpful, modest, and polite. Bathroom was clean and new. The breakfast was good. There were hardly any mosquitos/insects, perhaps because the room is high on a canyon wall. Our room had a nice relaxing view of thickly forested hillside across canyon, and the sounds of tropical birds and animals was relaxing. A small negative is if one looks down there are ugly delapidated local homes at the bottom of the canyon. And light construction noises started to echo up the canyon as things get going in the morning. Dogs from bottom of canyon barked loudly, early in the morning. Monkeys have access to the balcony and can be somewhat aggressive if the balcony door is left open. A major disadvantage is the road going to downtown (during perehera festival) is often a very slow traffic jam. It took over a half hour and the exhaust fumes from cars and buses can be nauseating (headache, etc.). On the map, Google indicates one could take an 11 minute walk to the museum and tooth relic temple, but that route is blocked by prohibited entrance to the park forest (have to pay entrance from the downtown side). Bathroom had a sewage smell from drain until room is aired out. The bathroom had a very loud weirdly huge bathroom fan fillling a whole window, which was awkward to turn on. Large openings in the fan are big enough for birds or small mammals to enter. In my opinion, because of the flaws and inconveniences, the room is not a good value for the Kandy area. But overall I don't mind because it was comfortable and the owner lady and her family seems genuinely nice and helpful.
