Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.

Such a calm place.A place every human should go. There are many places to visit here. Several museums have been established here, including an international museum.Also its Spread over a beautiful area, this place has been declared a World Cultural Heritage Site.
Probably the most important temple for Buddhist in the Sri Lanka. It is nicely designed and has beautiful interior. Reserve at least one hour for the excursion.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic or Sri Dalada Maligawa is one of the main icons of Buddhists in the world. It is located in the heart of Kandy in the central province of Sri Lanka. The importance is, this complex houses the relic of the tooth of the lord Buddha. It has a long history. Dalada Maligawa is a royal palace complex of the kingdom of Kandy occupied by several kings of the country. Itis in the world heritage list. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in leadership of the country. Daily rituals are conducted by Asgiri and Malwathu monks who are the religious leaders of Buddhism in the country. It is a calm and a must visit place. The only thing worries me is, they charge an entrance fee for foreigners. Locals or foreigners, you must fully covered with long clothes before you enter. There are some museums where you would be able to discover whole history of Kandy and the sacred tooth relic.
