Absolutely perfect! By far my best safari experience in Sri Lanka. Arran and his team took great care of us and are excellent guides. The professionalism reminded me of game drives in Africa, where a wealth of information was shared about all aspects of the park, ranging from observed animal tracks all the way to plants and trees! The sightings were excellent and their focus on avoiding crowds and minimising the disturbance of wildlife was appreciated. I can also highly recommend their bush walk. You never know what you might encounter! Finally, their accommodation was top notch (plunge pools are awesome!), food was excellent, and the service on point. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Beautiful glamping spot with lovely hospitable staff and delicious food
What a luxury to stay in a glamorous tent (with AC!) , take a cold bath in a plunge pool outside the tent watching monkeys play, and enjoy gin and tonic by the bonfire at night. The 3 guys who own this place are all extremely passionate about nature and wildlife conservation and I learnt so much about wildlife in Sri Lanka. I also spotted leopards on the safari I went with them. Loved every minute of it!
I highly recommend booking your safari with Ceylon Wild Safaris! We had the most amazing time. Arran is incredibly knowledgeable, fun and professional. He has a true passion for nature, animals, conservation and sustainability and our trip would not have been the same without him! The rooms are fitted with A.C, are modern and extremely comfortable. Very nice luxury campsite at Yala! Spent 3 days and managed to get exclusive sightings of the Leopard, Sloth bear and a Tusker as well. Crew is very friendly and skilled in tracking Leopards. Safari Jeep is a modified Landcruiser, done to meet the needs of professional photographers.Tents are air-conditioned and very well maintained. Food is great as well. Highly recommended for serious photographers and anyone who wants to get exclusive leopard sightings at Yala.
Animal Cruelty/ endangerment by Ceylon Wild Safaris. A jeep from Ceylon Wild Safaris drove up to a sleeping leopard for guests to take photographs at Yala Block 1 on the morning of 28 September 2020. This was at a time when all other jeeps were maintaining a safe distance observing the leopard resting at the side of the road. The startled leopard was chased into the jungle. This was both reckless and irresponsible. It was heart breaking to see the leopard running for cover. The incident was reported to the Yala Wildlife authorities who have seen the video/ pictures of the incident.Please help stop this aggressive tourism in future.
