Iridescence is a Non-Profit Organization created to teach art to marginalized and less fortunate children in Sri Lanka. We truly believe there is a future in engaging in creative fields and industries, unfortunately for most marginalized children in this country, the access to a good arts education is either non-existent or very limited in terms of what is provided. There is also the challenge of a general taboo around the fields of art that exists so greatly in this country, of it being not a wise career choice to make or a smart educational path to follow. By doing the work we do Iridescence works towards making available the resources, information and opportunities needed to give children a chance to pursue an education in arts and also break the existing stigma surrounding the arts industry. The work produced by the children will be showcased through exhibitions, magazines, short movies and websites. Their work is also used in merchandise and products and sold through various platforms where all the money received from the sales is put back into getting resources to educate the children.
