Beautiful tour. We were surprised that it was this cool! Great tour guide (see the picture). Very friendly, good level of English and a keen eye for animals and birds. Due to him we've seen many which we normally wouldn't notice. We went through nature and the villages of Negombo, showing us more than just the touristic parts. Our tour took a total of 2,5 hours and they asked for a fair price.

If you like biodiversity, you'll enjoy this trip. It begins in the canal (sadly filled with rubbish but can't blame the tour operators for this) before entering the lagoon. The best place to see wildlife was actually the canal - we saw kingfishers, herons, parrots, sea monitor lizards and a sea snake. Out in the Negombo lagoon, we were followed by a flock of birds which was epic to see them hunt fish while following our boat. We saw eagles, two baby crocodiles and other birds along the mangroves. The tour guide is very observant and has mad keen eyes. I was so impressed by this. Sadly didn't see any monkeys along the waterway, but can't replace the experience provided by a quality tour guide!

Very good boat trip with family! Showed us so many things that made us think how did they even spot so many creatures that are perfectly camouflaged into the lagoon etc Monkeys were great to see! Very accomadating and freindly with good English! Give them a try you will not be disappointed! Thanks raj

An excellent 2 1/2 boat tour along the Dutch canal and out along the river. Jude was a great guide and showed us so many interesting birds and creatures. Stopped for hot, fresh delicious samosas en route and also saw how coconut flower sap was collected and sampled the fresh juice. Beautiful sunset on the way back along the canal. Thoroughly recommend this tour

We enjoyed a wonderful two hours today, exploring the river and canal by boat with Sarath. Our 4 year old granddaughter loved it! We experienced many monitor lizards swimming and lazing on tree trunks; a variety of birds, including herons, ingrits, beautiful blue kingfishers and also stark mangroves. It was a great experience and Sarath was an excellent knowledgable guide and an extremely pleasant man. We highly recommend Sarath Boat Tours!

Great tour with an enthousiastic (and all seeing) guide. We had the choice to go to the monkey or the bird side. We choose the bird side because our guide told us that this side was more beautifull. It was great. We soon left the garbage of the canal behind us and entered the river and some mangrove. We saw kingfishers, herrons, leguana, varane and even some owls. It was great. Deffinitly recommend this tour. We even got some lemonbananas and a fresh coconut.

Fantastic trip, Sarath was incredible - really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! We started with a leisurely run down the Dutch Canal, spotting Kingfishers, Water Monitors and more, then a run through the lagoon to the marsh where we spotted jellyfish, eagles, monkeys and even a crocodile. Very highly recommended activity & well worth doing with Sarath!
