Gorgeous and immaculately clean little retreat from the Nuwara Eliya's buzz. My wife and I had a lovely spacious room with a balcony overlooking the SE end of Gregory lake. The shower box was the cherry on the cake. On our half board arrangement the a la carte dinner menu offered variety (wife's vegetarian) and consistently good flavours. All staff were very kind and so friendly. We only spent two nights but this was by far our best hotel experience in our fortnight Sri Lanka tour. The hotel manager was also so full of joy and happiness it was quite infectious. Fantastic in every way, would definitely recommend.

I ve been to 5 hotels in Sri Lanka and this one was the ultimate best. Especially the breakfast was wonderful. Also the room was bigger than i thought because it had high ceiling. Service was extraordinary compare to other hotels. Much better than any other Amaya groups hotels.

We enjoyed our stay at Tea Plant. Rooms are spacious and modern. Service was absolutely wonderful and couldn’t be faulted. Breakfast and dinner was great with very large portions. So its about 2-3 km to the town centre. although that shouldn’t be a issue because we found the town centre dirty and busy. My only complaint was that the hotel needs some “love”.. by improving some minor maintenance (that’s common throughout Sri Lanka)

I booked on Expedia and the photos very probably posted by the hotel as they really advantage this property. They framed the pictures to avoid the horrible landscape dedicated to mass tourism (i hate that) around and they are cut to have only green around so you can imagine a better surroundings specially with such name "tea plant", you think tea plantation. In fact this hotel is very near to a road in a small village, so it's very noisy, you are in front of the lake but with a view on a colorful ugly water activities center and an helipad. Houses and hotels are all around and the plantations are far away. So for me it's a tourist trap. If i know that, i will never book for such expensive rate a hotel which stands in such ugly and charmless location when i was expecting to be in a natural environment. Just arrived but i am waiting tomorrow with impatience to leave that place. Room is normal, flat TV is tiny with few interesting channels, bathroom is basic, but it's not enough for that level of price. Also it's very noisy with an helicopter probably for tourists which take off all the time, and also the road at few meters from the hotel with many cars horning a lot. So for me it's an horrible hotel before of its location and i got much much better for half price. So they are over-priced with that bad location and i will say a normal room. When you pay 228 euros, you expect much more and it is the price of a famous 5 stars Seafront with an elegant heritage building ! So you can't compare such properties. You can build a palace in a slam, the value is zero.

Nested among the misty hills of Nuwara Eliya overlooking the Gregory’s Lake, Tea Plant Hotel is located. This boutique hotel consists of nine rooms with fantastic views of the lake and the surroundings. When we checked in we were greeted by the friendly staff into the large lobby with panoramic views of the lake. As we were enjoying the well selected antique and modern furnishings and good choice of wall art we were provided with a warm towel and welcome drink accompanied with SriLankan savoury cookies to give a refreshing boost as we had traveled from Colombo. While we were enjoying the hospitality of the staff, our baggage was taken to our room. Our room was large, cosy, well furnished with high ceilings and overlooking the lake with a king size bed and all necessities such as high speed internet, cable TV, bar fridge etc. It was perfect for us as we were travelling with our four year old daughter. We spent three nights at Tea Plant and thoroughly enjoyed the service of the helpful and attentive staff and the authentic SriLankan cuisine offered by the in house chef. The staff and the general manager went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. If you would like to escape from the daily hustle and spend some quality and quiet time and immerse your self and your loved ones in nature’s beauty to refresh and recharge, I would highly recommend Tea Plant as the best destination.
