One of Oldest Historic and Religious temples in Pilimathalawa, Kandy area. The history extends upto 1266 back. Easiest and convenient way to reach is via Pilimathalawa town. There is a huge vehicle park. Building architecture is completely inspired by Hinduism. No stairs to climb even adults and children can be safely reached.

This temple needs to be recognised by the public and also the government. This needs restoration and care soon before the amazing ancient Buddhist temple gets too old to be repaired. Due to its history this temple is a very good tourist destination as well.

This is a fine example of the co-existance of two religious beliefs. Its hybrid architecture is also very facinating.

An interesting temple complex with old paintings on the doors. Unfortunately you have to pay to enter. I believe it was 5-600 rupees. It is a nice bus trip away from Kandy. This region is also nice to walk around in. There is a bathroom on site.
