A truely unique location on the beach with an unbeatable view. The cabanas are well built and offer all the basics you need. Keep in mind, that this is not a "normal" hotel and you need to know what to expect before coming here. Sand, wind, dogs and wild animals are everywhere and there is no road access. Highly recommend if you like this kind of experience.

Great spot and daybeds. The prices are reasonable for Arugam but the food isn't wow. We ordered one jaffle which was pretty small but the shakshuka was good. They also don't have coffee machine. They didn't have bottles so they wanted to charge for one glass of water 50 rupees! In the end they didn't charge us for that which was nice. Overall I think they can improve the service and the place will be much more pleasant.
Off season, don’t do it... we’ve booked a cottage online but I think we were forgotten. When we called to go to the resort (the last few meters over the sandy beach, which was promising for a cabin on the beach surf place), we kept on waiting... and waiting... when we arrived they told us the restaurant could serve us much... no fresh fish (which was strange because we were waiting at a fishermen’s spot with people coming in with lots of fresh tuna). Oh and the restaurant is closing one hour earlier than mentioned on the website. We didn’t get the feeling we were welcome and were given a stink eye by the staff. Maybe because we were the only guests and they would have liked the area for themselves. When we left after one day (in a bad smelly dirty shower cabin) we were promised to get a refund (or some of it) by one of the guys. The manager later emailed us, he would refund the down payment because we supposed have left because of bad weather. Actually we moved to another guesthouse with better service. The staff lied to him about our reasons. The manager refunded some of our money, but that was fine. He apologised and was ashamed to hear what his staff had done and why we left so quickly. He told us, this was a new off season staff he’s been trying and the normal staff is not there. He showed us a text on the website, which explains that the resort is not for everyone (we’ve seen places more basic but with kinder staff). Good solve eventually, but it took too much effort to get out, get our money back and get our message across to get the bad experience and the memory of the stink eye staff out of our minds. Sorry only 2 star Supposedly, this could be an amazing place in high season. Would be surfer paradise, right on the spot. I can see it, when the good staff is in. Could easily me 5/5
A great view and an amazing spot to grab a drink or something to eat and sit down to watch the waves and surfers at the main point. The service was really nice and friendly as well.
Nice place and free beach chairs and hammocks for customers. Passion soda and mint soda were not that great as they were made with syrup as opposed to fresh produce. Asked for a towel and they tried to charge me rental for it when we left despite not mentioning it when they gave it to me.
Great service, you can come and catch a tan, surf, eat drink or just relaxing
Stayed there for 3 nights in the “basic” cabanas, had a great time.. The place looks great, in a great location, has a nice vibe and offers a lot of options for sitting and chilling near the beach.
The main point of serfing at arugambay ...nice and helpful staff.
