We booked this place in April 2018 and upon arrival, realized it’s not a hotel. At the gate, a small board on the roadside said “VISHRAMA SHALAWA” (Pilgrim’s Rest). The entrance to the place is very narrow and had a really unpleasant surrounding. The rooms were dusty and cob webs were hanging from every corner. Seemed like the place wasn’t cleaned for months. This place is situated in the vicinity of a temple and there’s a Dagoba on the top floor, restricting any kind of entertainment. We were shocked to see a Buddhist Monk asking for our IDs as soon as we entered, whereas we made this booking through a different person. We did not stay in the place as it was not suitable for a holiday accommodation and informed the person we need our advance returned. He agreed, however, we never got our advance back even after a year. It was sad and sickening to come across such an unprofessional and untidy place which ruined our holiday. This place surely paints a very bad picture of Sri Lanka.

last 18th i went to the sigiriya with my parents. so 17 of April i deposited 3000/- for our reservation to some one from kandy. that time he said me we give you an entire house for you including 4 rooms with attach bath rooms.but having 3 rooms with never cleaned toilets.we had oppressive feeling while we opening the toilet door. all attached photos are made by him on the opening day of this house. it will be 5 or 6 years old.oops. what ever the poor situation is some monk(who lived in next door) ganging with him to do this carder work. don't book this place at all. fake and very unpleasant place you had your entire journey, if you booked this place.....
