We went here for breakfast one morning and were greeted by the lovely owner who went out his way to make us feel welcome. He cooked us the tastiest roti and the portions were massive and generous. The owner was so friendly and made us feel at home. What a lovely little place, would fully recommend. We wanted to try the hoppers but sadly never got the chance to go back.
The perfect spot to relax. Great food, music and chilled vibes. Shantha the owner is a great guy. I look forward to coming back and staying in the bungalows next time.

Fantastic home cooking by Shanta and his lovely wife Ramani! We are vegans and got to experience the most amazing vegan rice and curry in Sri Lanka, fresh, authentic and full of veggies! The restaurant is very pleasant, situated in a lushy garden, ocean sounds in the distance! Truly recommended if you are looking for a traditional Sri Lankan food from the friendly local people :)
Fabulous food at the Sunshine cafe and the best we had in Sri Lanka! We stayed at the Good Karma Hotel, which is next to the Sunshine cafe. But we went nearly every day to the Sunshine cafe for dinner. An important advice. Make reservations and order the day before so Shanta, the owner, can get fresh food from the local market for you.
Shantha is very friendly and kindly owner. His food was delicious. We had grilled prawns.
Delicious! Stayed at Good Karma but found this gem of a place for the best dinners! Shantha and his wife are so friendly and welcoming. Must try the rice and curry - so good and we have eaten a lot in Sri Lanka! Shantha even drove us in his tuktuk when we were off to Mirissa - for a very good price! Thankyou so much Sunshine Cafe for delicious and authentic food.
