What a warm welcome, instant communication, efficient station pick up by free tuk tuk. Greeted with a top notch barbecue and lots of warm smiles. Beautiful setting, comfortable cabana. Their warm hospitality quickly made us feel like family and we treasure the conversations we had sharing things about each of our families. .The cabana was cozy and outfitted well for our comfort. We had a choice of AC or the fan. The cabana sits up on a hill with a wonderful view and a steady breeze. The home is a short walk down the hill onto the street with restaurants, bike rentals, snack shops and then across the road to the most wonderful beach on the Bay of Bengal. We swam in beautiful calm waters everyday and lazed about the beautiful beach with restaurants right there for food and drink on the beach.NOW to the good stuff. Gajani's cooking. We were fed wonderful home cooked meals with menu choices. One night prawns and fish in an amazing sauce, tasty vegetable dishes, avocado and mango juice drinks like we had never tasted before. We could go on and on about the food. We agreed on what we wanted each day and the price was much lower than any restaurants in the area and the portions huge. Always leftovers for lunch next day. We have made friends for life and can't wait to return. This is the place to stay when visiting Trincomalee.
I stayed at the Woody Cabana recently and loved my stay! Shan and his wife were very accommodating and their cabana was very well maintained and clean. They showed us a lot of nice places to explore as well as good restaurants to eat at! We loved the cabana and will be recommending it to everyone! Thank you Shan for the amazing experience.
Woody cabana is an excellent place to stay! IAfter reading all the excellent reviews on Airbnb I recided to book one villa/ cabana for three nights! I was surprised how amazing the whoke stay was. Mr. and Mrs Shan were warm and welcoming. We got a welcome drink, place was srarkling clean, beds were comfortable, AC worked like a charm, the room had a fridge, a small kitchen and a place to sit outside. Everything we could imagine from a place. We definitely got more than what we paid for the room! Would highly recommend the place.
Basic but comfortable/ clean wooden cabins – can’t complain for the price! The air conditioning worked well to cool us down quickly & the option to purchase cold bottled water was much appreciated. Could be improved by having a larger or a second window to let in more natural light. Have to walk along an un-made road to reach the Cabanas but handily located 5 minutes from the restaurants/ 10 mins from beach. We only met Shan briefly on a couple of occasions but he was lovely and hospitable. The man on duty while we were there (October - off season) does not speak much English but was very friendly and helpful too. We paid to have our clothes washed and they came back fresh/ dry/ folder the next morning – much appreciated! Thanks for a pleasant stay :)
We spent 3 days at the woody cabana was absolutely amazing. Shan and Gaja were such welcoming hosts tending to do our every need. The food prepared by Gaja was lovely. Our room was so comfortable, the Ac, fans and the mosquito net are real asset. It felt like time spent with family. They arrange boat tour for us, they bargain for us for less money snorkel trips were outstanding, . I was very sad to leave. If you want to go to the Trincomalee and you don’t want to go to the big Resort because that is very expensive, I highly recommend this place.
Eve though little hard to access this place , hosts are very helpful and quality of service. Highly recommended.
