The Purple Coot Ayurveda Retreat is a bit of a drive from Colombo and is hard to find, we had to use google maps to navigate. It’s in the middle of nowhere. Once we got here it was beautiful, nice cottages with lot of greenery and nature and once you walk to the end of the resort you see this peer leading to sit out in the water who’s was the best. Food isn’t that good but the GN and staff were very friendly and helpful, there are a lot of mosquitos so carry a bug spray. These nothing nearby this place so stick up on snacks, drinks, first aid and anything else you need.

Purple Coot Resort, located 10 kilometers from the City of Kalutara in Sri Lanka is a blissful getaway. We stayed here for 2 nights but the resort also offers Ayurveda retreat packages of about seven to twenty-eight days. The stay was made memorable because of the smiling staff that made us feel comfortable and went an extra mile that makes a difference! Purple Coot Resort offers traditional Kerala Ayurveda therapies and treatments to make you feel relaxed and refreshed. After a careful assessment, the experts at the spa offer tailor-made therapies to suit each individual’s unique body constitution. Indulge in the wellness therapies for specific treatments that last for a number of days or step into the spa for a quick rejuvenating treatment. Located around 1.5 hour drive from the airport.

So loveble,calm,quiet,refreshing place. Cottage type accomodation units are nearly perfect. Beautiful environment by a nice lake. Rowing is also available. Food is pathetic,except that all other facilities are so much worthy for the reasonable rate.

Very dissappointed in the service, food quality and experience overall. Be careful when eating their food because the ones who serve the food are the same people who clean the yard! Mosquitos were every where in the night. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE MANAGER AND HIS STAFF HAVE NO RESPECT, NO SKILL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE OR WHATEVER RELATED. This is absolutely the worst hotel I've stayed in .I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

WORST hotel experience in my life.stayed two days there.very very poor CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not worth for money. Filters are not working in the swimming pool,rooms filled with dirt,food is hardly edible and hotel management is really bad. I would give zero stars if I could. My vacation is totally ruined.( Dammika Muthugala, Municipal Commissioner in Dehiwala - Mount Lavinia)
