Thia is a modern bookstore located in Bambalapitiya on the Duplication road. Loads of decent books can be found here. I tried look for a novel only to find it at this store not anywhere else. Decent staff and reasonable prices. Several other stationary items available. Parking is also there
Great variety of fiction, educational books and stationary on offer. In central location with a snack bar.
Chapters is one of the best places to read a book, and my personal favourite. It's an A/C'ed book-store with huge leather cushions. Pros: This spot gets plus points for the smell of new books and the tea and coffee stall in the front (oh and if you want to take a break from reading, they've also got a collection of movies and a DVD player to watch them on). Cons: They have a small but interesting selection of books. Lots of fantasy and illustration books if you like that - if not, BYOBook. Sides: Rs. 250 for a coffee, Rs. 200 for a milkshake.
Couldn't find many books. But the place has a cozy vibe with a place to sit and read and just enjoy a cup of coffee !

Beautiful tiny book shop. I bought the newest book by JK Rowling's here. The woman at the counter helped me quickly find my book and was kind during check out. Also a cafe attached.
