The AA Ceylon, based in Colombo, is particular, as they require IDP holders, to have their IDP cerfieid again, which costs 4000 LKR (20USD) and take 20 mn to do. So nothing to be happy about, but that's the rule in Srilanka if you want to drive peacefuly. The office is quite small, on a third floor, but the staff is super friendly , the doc is quickly expedited, and they even offer 6 months membership with the certification. Not to mention the AA Ceylon teeeshirt that they sell 500 LKR (2.5 USD)....impossible not to buy

They are in a easily accesible location. Vehicle valuation service was efficient and fast. Friendly staff. But the office of payments and other admin work is operating like a typical government office. Very slow, no body knows what is happening.

Recently Got my International dring permit from AA. You will need three passport size photographs, original driving license and a photocopy of the driving license. The cost is 2200 for the international driving permit. They ask you to get the membership as well. Its not mandotory and It will cost more. It takes two days to issue the permit these days. There is parking available inside the premises. They are nice until you say you dont want the membership.

This is a fraud. I went to get IDP for me and my wife. They forced me to get their membership by paying 6600LKR per each. They told that they don't issue IDPs without their membership. Then I refused and returned back. Definetely, this is a fraud.
