All well qualified Doctors. Our son was rushed to Lady Ridgeway last Sunday. The Doctors were very helpful and gave hope to us while treating our son. They worked hard day and night and help our child to get his life back. Our son was given proper treatments and care and he came out of danger in few days time. We highly recommend the hospital as the Doctors know what they are doing and knows the value of a life. Special thanks to Dr. Soniya, Dr. Ravindu, Dr. Kosala - Consultant these are few whom I got to know the names of... and all the other staff members. Thank you so much and may God bless you all

Undoubtedly the best children's hospital in the country. They are able to cater to about 900 inward patients at a time and also considered as the largest children's hospital in the world. Nursing staff is well trained and provides a great service, however security staff is very impolite. They have all the required medical facilities and equipment. It could be little discomforting for guardians and visitors as they do not have paying wards and other facilities that are provided by private hospitals. However as for the medical care, there's no better and credible hospital than this.

Government owned children hospital.... Very good equipment and facilities.. But as usual lacking the service quality of the staff specially the minor staff like security and attendents.. As always doctors and nurses are good with their duties but will not get involved in management issues like. Unwanted long lines caused by management problems. For example the numbers for clinics given only at 8 but they line up people by 6am and doctors will only come at 9... They will just queue up people(with children) like in a prison camp. They should start a automated system like in private sector or in kandy general hospital where your valuable time is saved and all unwanted bribery and harresment from minor staff will end....

The best child care hospital in Sri Lanka. Staff is friendly. Facilities needs to be improved a great deal. Government seems to have neglected the maintenance of this place.

The Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children is a children's hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka, considered to be the largest children's hospital in the world. Established by public subscription in 1895 as the Lady Havelock Hospital for Women and Children, it was named the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in 1910. Both these distinguished ladies were the respective wives of successive British Governors in Ceylon - Sir Arthur Havelock and Sir Joseph West Ridgeway. Lady Ridgeway Hospital serves as the national referral center for pediatric care for Sri Lanka. It also serves as local pediatric hospital for the population in and around Colombo city for emergency care. All services are free of charge in keeping with the free state health care policy of the Sri Lankan Government.
