Good place to stay in Dambulla if you are looking for budget rooms. Rooms are quite cheaper and clearer compared to the other budget hotels. Peaceful environment and well maintained house. On your request you can order food. Bathrooms were clean. As if it is a budget hotel they don't provide toiletries but they provide towels. Non AC rooms have a fan and the beds are comfortable and large. During our stay we were the only guests there. Therefor we did not have any trouble using the bathroom. unless the shared bathrooms could be a problem. We liked the garden and the housekeeping seemed to be nice. There is a swing and seating available in the garden. Good stay!
Had a really good stay! The staff was nice the place is beautiful you could chill out in the garden which is well maintained. There are couple of hammocks and a swing with a small badminton court and a Carom board and plenty of sitting area. The rooms are clean and big and comfortable so are the washrooms. This place is cost friendly simple and nice. There are wall fans in the rooms and hall with a decent speed however it can get a bit warm during the day coz of the the climate in the area however nothing to complain it’s manageable. They provide food on request for a reasonable price and the place is at a central location which makes it easier to travel to places of visit. There are lots of mosquitoes however therefore good to have your own repellents. Besides that the staff are friendly and supportive and the ambience is great.
Bedbox is a relatively new kid on the block, set up by a young and very dynamic lady entrepreneur. The stand-out features of this hostel include the exceptionally good WiFi, the helpfulness of the owner to ensure comfort of guests and the 3 minutes walk to the bus station for early morning transport The hostel does have a few teething issues like no hot water showers and air conditioning in the dorms - but nothing too serious that cannot be fixed Overall, a convenient location and good value for money MY RATINGS - Location (10/10), Ease of Check-in (10/10), Staff helpfulness (10/10), Room Cleanliness (8/10), Washroom Cleanliness (8/10), Security arrangements (10/10), Facilities (9/10), Value for money (9/10), Accuracy with online information (9/10)
Its not very often i will leave a hotel/hostel after just one night and go and stay somewhere else. But this time I did. The whole place was very grubby, i dont think they have ever mopped the floors or wiped downs door and walls. Got eaten alive by mosquitoes even thought we had nets over the bed. Paid for an ensuite, was not given one. Flannelette sheets in the middle of summer, so hot to try sleep on.\u003cbr/\u003eUsually they say you get what you pay for, but I paid an extra 2 per night and got a place up the road which was spotless, had AC, an ensuite and even a pool.\u003cbr/\u003eOn a positive note, the staff were very friendly and make us a delicious breakfast.\u003cbr/\u003e##EDIT## Yes I am sure it was your hostel, not sure how you don't have me as a customer, please see attached screenshot.
Great hostel in central Dambulla.There was a friendly warming atmosphere and groovy artwork on the walls. Really friendly staff that are super helpful for example recommendations on where to go. Breakfast was a large portion with freshly made omelettes,sausage,bread or fruit plus tea and coffee which is delicious. The beds are so comfy and the room is really clean.Would definitely recommend this hostel to fellow backpackers.
This place is walking distance to the city. Cheap and very quiet. You will feel that yiu are far away from the busy city. And also the best place to meet new people
Amazing hostel with great big garden.very cost friendly and they even arranged us a elephant safari for a reasonable price.Comfortable beds and clean bathroom facilities unlike other hostels we stayed before.Would recommend to anyone who prefer a low cost eco friendly stay
