Small cabin with beautiful surroundings! A good starting point if you’re planning a hike to Ella rock and the waterfall on the way. We only stayed for one night but this cottage suited us perfectly, it’s about 20 minutes walk to Ella town and it’s a lot to discover nearby. The SriLankan breakfast we had was absolutely delicious and our host was amazing. The bed could have been better and the room could use some fresh air. Overall good value for the money and I would recommend it for anyone who’s looking for an authentic experience!

We staid 3 nights at the Mango Shadow Inn and it was an incredible time. Niroshan and his father are the kindest person we ever met. The walk to Ella Rock with his father was an incredible experience and one of the best time of our trip to Sri Lanka. Breakfast was incredible and so was the dinner. The room is really lovely with a great view and the noise of the jungle in the background. Wonderfull time, go ahead and enjoy.
Best place to stay in Ella!If you plan to come to Ella, then staying in the Mango Shadow Inn is the best thing you could do. This lovely guesthouse is operated by Jayawardana, his son Niroshan and the rest of the family. The guesthouse is located a 10 minute walk or 5 minute tuktuk right from Ella’s busy Main Street. The property has a beautiful garden, comfortable bed and huge bathroom. From the balcony you can see little Adam’s Peak. Every morning Niroshan served us the most amazing breakfast, with pancakes, hoppers, eggs, fresh juices, rotti, all home made and it tasted just soo lovely! Jayawardana took us to see Ella Rock in the early morning. With him as our guide we started the 1,5 hour walk at 4:30 to see a magnificent sunrise. We were the first to reach the rock, while hiking down we came across many people who did not take a guide and arrived to late at the top to see the sunrise. We were super happy we had Jayawardana, who did the whole hike on his slippers by the way! We strongly recommend this lovely family run guesthouse to everyone. We had a great time and would definitely come back again. Thank you Jayawardana, Niro and family!!!
Sitio increíble... Merece la pena porque está apartado del centro de Ella pero se llega perfectamente en 20 minutos a pie. El dueño es una persona dulce y muy muy amable. La comida es deliciosa y la verdad que te sientes como en casa. Recomiendo el sitio a todo viajero deseoso de conocer buena gente, amabilidad amor por las pequeñas cosas y mucho relax...
