Founded in the year 1896 by catholic nuns from Belgium. This convent has contributed towards the society a lot. The architecture of the establishment is glorious. Go in to the convent chapel to see what this means and be amazed. Since the first arrival of European travelers to the city it stated to get change with fort structure, buildings & monuments. Galle became a little Europe. Eight sites of Sri Lanka have been inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage which includes the old town of Galle and its fortifications (1988)
