Textiles require a huge amount of energy and resources to create, and often the final product is thrown away. It's with this in mind that House of Lonali was created. Using only fabrics acquired from manufacturer off-cuts and unused lines, our team created a unique aesthetic to give new life to fabrics and provide a stylish and ethical alternative to the high street. Good design, made with quality textiles and craftsmanship, is top of our priority list. We believe that clothing can be both stylish and ethical, and it's this balance that ensures all our pieces are made to the highest standard. Lonali Rodrigo, lead Designer, sources the fabrics herself for each line, looking for quality textiles and interesting prints which complement the House of Lonali's modern metropolitan aesthetic. We care about how the creation of our product effects the world around us. All our garments and shoes are handmade. We work closely with artisans in Sri Lanka to provide a fair income and help to preserve skills. We only use upcycled fabrics (meaning high quality new fabrics, which would otherwise be destined for landfill), reducing environmental wastage.
