This stone Inscription Situated in 20th April 1860. It's called Galkanuwa. It means stone Post. This sign an engraved the top of the post and write out this road to Puràna Kande Vihàraya. (ගොරකානෙ කන්දෙ විහාරස්ථානයට යන පාර මෙ) Then Galkanuwa Road is radial from Galkanuwa Junction to Puràna Kande Vihàraya. At last 20 years that Road was extended to Bolgoda Gardens with Aqua Pearl Lake Resort and asphalt carpet by Panadura Provisional Council. But unfortunately Google Maps can't verify what is the Galkanuwa Road.
