The Department of Export Agriculture works on Export Agricultural Crops (EAC). EAC are group of crops cultivated mainly for export rather than local consumption, and it's Gazetted by the minister. Today it include 16 crops namely, cinnamon, pepper, clove, nutmeg, coffee, cocoa, arecanut, betel, cardamom, vanilla, citronella, lemon grass, ginger, turmeric, garcinia and tamarind. This is the head office. It has district offices in 17 districts mainly in wet and intermediate zones. The Mahanuwara district office is about 100m away. Here in head office all administration is done. The head of the department is Director General (DG). The DG, Additional DG (Research), Additional DG (Development), Additional DG(Admin) is found in second floor. Account division in the first floor. Publications can be purchased in ground floor.
