Kaudulla National park is located near Habarana.. It is the nature park where you can spot the largest herd of elephants in entire Asia.. You can witness more than 500 elephants in a herd.. This park consist of a vast area which is a home for many elephants, Peacocks, monkeys, fox, Buffalos, and a vast variety of beautiful birds.. Going on a Safari to Kaudulla national park is a wonderful experience.. it takes nearly 4 hours to cover the entire park. Better to start the safari during afternoon, around 2pm, as the animals get out of thick jungle by 3pm and walk towards river banks to quench their thirst.

You can see hundreds of elephants at one place very close to your self. Safari will take you close to elephants and very lesiurly you can study thier behaviours. We were used our own suv’s during the trip by paying entree fee.
Great experience, the best time to visit this is around 3-4 at the evening, the amount and the variety of the animals you see is totally on you luck . ️ But truly a great experience it was.

One of the very best places to watch elephants in Sri Lanka. It is better to start your Safari after 2pm. Other than the elephants you can watch many birds, monkeys, Sri Lankan Jackals (fox) etc.

Famous place to watch elephants. Like minneriya you can see large elephant gatherings in the evening near grass lands.. good to visit during April to sep during dry season.about 200km from Colombo. If you are travelling by train you have to get down from Galoya railway station. Safari rate is about 2500 if you are getting the Jeep close by. If you are getting Safari Jeep from habarana it will cost about 3000.
