It's a Ceylon tea manufacturing plantation, where you can learn and sense how Ceylon tea is made and the level of effort put to convert lush green leaves to a refreshing cup of Ceylon tea. Such an awesome experience to see the heritage and people behind the Ceylon tea.

The world Renowned Research & Development Institution on Tea Industry.. I Recommend TRI as the place with all the technologies in Tea Cultivation to Processing.
Tea Research of Sri Lanka, is the greatest and trust full name. They are the only person who doing research for new verities of tea plant, as well researching treatment for plants,,, (copy) TRI was first established in 1925 as an arm of the Planters’ Association of Ceylon, in order to enrich the tea industry through professional research findings. The institute had its early beginnings in Nuwara Eliya town with a representative nucleus of staff undertaking research in make-shift laboratories with very modest equipment and then transferred to the present location, the St. Coombs Estate in Talawakelle, in December 1929.
Tea Reserch Institute, is the backbone of our country's tea industry, sadly so, to mention it... I made inquiries to whether I could obtain clone 4052 shoots, given me the assurance that its available, I proceed on 09 August 2018 to obtain shoots. I was shocked to receive substandard shoots given to me by a labourer, they were matured shoots, flowering and seeded, mother leaves distorted (blister), I had no choice, but, taking my chance to plant them. The receipt for the money I had paid for, was retained by the office. TRI standards must improve, for the Tea Industry to thrive. My advice to the public: to check mother bush whether the quality of shoots are available. The cost per shoot is Rs.5.00. Make sure you get a receipt for the money you pay.
The institute working with the mission of development of Sri Lankan Tea industry... they provide good service... friendly staff for knowledge seekers.they are researching about new clones, harvesting methods, productivity of tea manufacturing etc..
5 starts are not enough to express how amazing the place is. My grandparents and my mother used to work at TRI. and still my uncle is working at TRI in the Audio Visual Unit. I am looking forward to join TRI to have a wonderful experience with the BEST TEA EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
