A quiet place to enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine, mainly a large variety of sushi. Their prices were reasonable, though i feel portion sizes have gotten smaller over time. The staff was friendly. Would recommend they change their opening time to the actual opening time of the restaurant, as the staff said that they don't open at 11AM, like google maps specify. Its slightly inconvenient to have to walk some distance to another building to use the restroom, which was also quite small. I enjoyed the food and the general ambiance. There is parking for at least 4 vehicles. I'm complaining only because this restaurant is in the heart of Colombo, and they might need to step up their game and go from good to great. With that being said, i do recommend this restaurant to any sushi fanatic.

Horrible food. Not authentic at all. Doesn't taste good as fusion food either. Check out their "Omu rice" for lols. ZEN Japanese restaurant is much better. Would never recommend or come again.
The food is very tasty and service is also okay. However the cost of food is way too expensive as quantity is very less. Chicken BBQ Sushi is delicious but costs about 2600 just to get 2 small portions of Sushi, and worst of all its not even filling. I still get it as quality is good and I love Sushi. Similarly tried other dishes, taste is good but poor value for money given the cost is high and quantity is very less for the cost. For example for a full meal for 1 with Sushi, Garlic Rice, Chicken or Prawn, Average cost per person is about 3700. And it does not full you up. If very hungry. On the other hand for that rate in many other places you can possibly get 4 full dishes enough for 3 to 4 people. In general the food tastes great but its easily atleast 40 percent more than most other restaurants.

Food preparation and tasted delicious. staff,service and hospitality was good. But the worst toilet experience ever (Thalawathugoda) after informing them how disgusted it was,no one even bothered to go take a look at it go near and do the needfull,instead they were too busy chit-chatting among them selves.the restaurant did not have any guests during this time (indoor) other than us and another guest ourdoors. Basically they were NOT busy.ofcause the staff who served was the only one who was apologetic although staff inside had a so called manager (from his attire) also aint sure about the "level of hygiene they practice" by the outlet since the door of the kitchen is open at the back which is just next to the toilet. Definitely not gonna visit them again.Its a no no for me.
Their crispy red is the best they have. Can't wait to try their ramen burger next. Absolutely love their katsu don rice too. A little expensive for my taste but the food is so yumm. Sushi Kai never disappoints
Service can be slow at times. Prices seem alright for it's money's worth. The food is always a 50/50. Either it's fresh or it tastes like it's 2 weeks old.
