The Rotaract Club of Kelaniya was chartered on 21st June 1999 with Rtr. Dilini Abeywickrama as the Charter president. Since then Rtr. Indika Fernando, Rtr. Hafeez Marikkar, Rtr. Gayani Alles, Rtr. Jakque Dias, Rtr. Ramesh Ramkumar, Rtr. Prabath Perera, Rtr. Ashley Sahabdeen and Rtr. Shahad Hussain led the club successfully till 2008. The club was successful in producing several Rotaract District Committee Members and went on to produce two DRRs: IPDRR Indika Fernando in 2004 and IPDRR Jacque Dias the following year. In December 2013, 11 individuals gathered with the thought of reviving the legacy of the Rotaract Club of Kelaniya and by 9th August the revival installation was held inducting Rtr. Themiya Calbral as President. Following Rtr. Themiya, Rtr. Chathushka Gunawardena was installed as President for the 2015/16 Rotaract year followed by Rtr. Rukshani Adihetty for the 2016/17 Rotaract year. Currently Rotaract Club of Kelaniya is being lead by Rtr.President Kavindra Sigera.Rotaract Kelaniya establishes itself as a volunteer group that mainly focuses serving the community via innovative means. Think Pink - Annual Breast Cancer prevention program & Game On - Sri Lanka's First Rotaract Beach Handball tournament are two of the main projects annually organized by the Rotaract Club of Kelaniya.
