Excellent place to learn and study about elephants. This is the one and only place in Sri Lanka which follows International Animal welfare rules, regulations and ethics. You can see chain free elephants there. Good food, good hospitality and friendly staff.

Beautiful foundation, elephants are not chained and they are very well cared for. I respect animals so I don’t ride them, but I had an amazing time , connecting with the elephants by loving them and feeding them. Make sure you take a walk around the foundation as well. Also volunteering opportunities are available. I had an amazing experience.

There were only big elements. No baby elephants. All staff is busy with customers from European belt. Others were totally neglected. After the ticket charges you have to pay many tips for different activities. Although few are included in the ticket charges. Its good to see they are taking care of elephants along with earning their livelihood. Nice place but too moist and the elephant ride is not comfortable at all. As they have not place anything to sit on elephant. And their hair and backbone is really painful for the riders.

Nice elephant orphanage with around 10 elephants. Many volunteers work there from different country. It's a good place to spend around two hours with viewing elephant and coconut trees.

Millennium elephant foundation is dedicated to the welfare of domesticated elephants offering them a better alternative to a life of work or in a temple setting. The guides are knowledgeable and friendly and willing to answer any of our questions. The elephant walk experience offers the elephants to exhibit natural behavior in a beautiful setting. Included in the elephant walk experience we were able to feed and bath the elephant after a lovely walk around the 19acre estate. After a tour of the elephant dung paper factory onsite we also had the option for lunch in the colonial house. Don’t miss out on this unique experience and support this organization that is doing everything they can for captive elephants in Sri Lanka.

Nice volunteer experience for one day. Elephants are doing good here, everybody loves them so much and take care of them carefully. The rooms for the volunteer should be more clean as in my room there was a rat poo on the bed... Food was great, maybe for breakfast better options... The price for a day and night is in my opinion a bit pricey what you get but as an experience for one day is ok....for longer stay is too much money to spend here... The morning walk with the elephant would be nice in a nature rice fields and not on the main road... Anyway i enjoyed the stay and wish you the best luck with the elephants! Xoxo

A good place for elephant watching , bathing and ride. Staff is warm and cordial. It will take about an hour or slight more to complete a good tour of the park.
